I'm an Ex-Academic, with special interest in Early Modern Europe. My (unfinished) dissertation was on academic traditionalism in 17th century Spain. I'm currently a history teacher and a school administrator. I've lived along the Atlantic Seaboard and spent a fair amount of time traveling in Germany, the U.K., Spain, and India.
Wired has an article that explains the mathematical formula at the heart of the current Wall Street collapse. It's tough for me to explain the main argument, but it's a fascinating story of math gone wild.
